Guns N’ Roses current South American tour took a turn for the worse over the weekend when rioting broke out at VIP only party in São Paulo, Brazil.
The event, which played host to a mix of lingerie clad models and billionaire socialites, turned nasty when Axl Rose and company didn’t show up for their alleged performance. When event organizers broke the news, patrons began fighting and destroying items in the club.
It’s been a tough tour thus far for GN’R, who were also greeted with flying bottles at a different show in São Paulo and had to cancel a performance in Rio de Janeiro due to a collapsed stage.
“The audience got angry and started to mount the stage, and fight and destroy everything,” an eyewitness told the New York Post. “It was wild. There were fights everywhere, on the dance floor, in the bathrooms, outside the club. Crazy. I guess the free drinks didn’t help.”
Guns N’ Roses continue their South American tour with a show on March 16 at the Gigantinho in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
