Phil Lesh Jams Into His 70s
The [lastfm]Grateful Dead[/lastfm]‘s Phil Lesh turned 70 last Friday, and some of the jam scene’s top names came out to help him celebrate with a performance at the Bill Graham Civic Arena in San Francisco.
Lesh’s former Grateful Dead bandmate Bob Weir helped out on such staples as “Turn On Your Lovelight” and “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl,” while Jackie Greene, Steve Molitz, John Molo and the Black Crowes‘ Chris Robinson also made cameos.
In other news, Lesh’s and Weir’s and Furthur have announced that they will appear at Furthur Fest, their own music festival. Ticketing information and other details for the three-day event, set to take place May 28-30 at Angels Camp, California, have yet to be announced.
