[lastfm]Them Crooked Vultures[/lastfm] kicked off the first night of an eight-night U.K. charity concert series dedicated to the Teenager Cancer Trust.
The supergroup – featuring Josh Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones – played for more than two hours at London’s Royal Albert Hall, running through almost all of their debut album.
Frontman Homme told the crowd, “What an absolute pleasure to see you all here this evening. London let its hair down for the right reason, huh?”
Drummer Grohl told the BBC that he was especially excited to play at the famed venue due to its illustrious history.
“There’s a list of the legendary venues that you cross your fingers and some day hope you’ll be able to play,” Grohl said. “This is definitely one of them. This might be at the top of the list.”
