Denard Span, lead-off hitter for the Minnesota Twins, accomplished what is likely an MLB first yesterday: he hit his mom with his own foul ball!

AP reports that on only the sixth pitch of the game, Span swung late and sent the ball careening on a collision course with his mother, who was sitting in the box seats near the Twins dugout. Wanda Wilson was struck in the chest, but maintains that she is “fine”. Either way, not exactly the best way to score point with your mama, Denard!
