Blur Reveals New Song Title
[lastfm]Blur[/lastfm] have announced the title of the song they recorded to be released as a vinyl single on Record Store Day, April 17.
The track, which has been named “Fool’s Day,” is the first to feature all four band members together since 2003’s Think Tank album.
The seven-inch vinyl will have a limited release of 1,000 copies, and will only be available at participating independent record stores in the U.K. beginning this weekend.
“We want independent record stores to continue — they’re an important part of our musical culture,” frontman Damon Albarn said in a statement. “Music is a simple way for Blur to show our support and we hope people will like it.”
The band’s record label, Parlophone, have noted their hope that the band will continue to release music together. In an interview with BBC Radio, label President Miles Leonard commented, “I just hope that from hearing the song like this that the band feel there’s more in them. We certainly do as a label, and I’m sure when fans hear this they’ll think the same.”
