[lastfm]Ozzy Osbourne[/lastfm]’s new single, “Let Me Hear You Scream,” premiered on CSI: NY on Wednesday. The song is the first single from the rocker’s new album, Scream, which is due in stores June 15.
The CBS show used the new Ozzy song as a backdrop for a prison riot.
“We were looking for something high energy and irreverent to sell the madness of a prison riot,” executive producer and episode writer Peter M. Lenkov said, according to Blabbermouth. “We immediately responded to the new Osbourne tune. The song exceeded our expectations and brought exactly the right tone to the episode.”
“When I heard they were going to use ‘Let Me Hear You Scream’ for a prison riot scene, I thought, ‘Well, now that’s something I know about,'” said Ozzy, who reportedly spent time in prison in the U.K. for burglary when he was younger.
Ozzy’s new album will feature the debut of his new guitarist, Gus G., and was produced by Kevin Churko. An 18-month supporting tour has also been announced on Ozzy’s website for the album, although no specific dates have been given.
