[lastfm]Peter Gabriel[/lastfm] has offered up a set of limited edition album art prints featuring work from every era of his 34-year career.
Collectors can choose from 15 different images in two sizes, with 251/2″ x 331/2″ prints selling for about $930 and 40″ x 50″ prints going for $1,550.
The art is reproduced using Giclee printing methods on Woodstock Felt paper and will be limited to 100 prints for the smaller size and 15 for the larger. Each print will be hand signed by Gabriel.
“I’ve always loved artwork and album art,” Gabriel said on the website of his private gallery, Real World. “I think it’s been a huge part of what people identify and feel about the music and the records.”
“I used to love gatefold sleeves . . . when you would sit with a new record and open it up it was just a precious moment,” he added. “Now we’ve gone into this digital world a lot of that has been lost. We’ve being looking at ways of getting quality prints of the artwork for a long time and I’m happy now it has happened.”
Gabriel’s newest studio set, Scratch My Back, hit U.S. stores on March 2.
