The Smashing Pumpkins Give Intimate L.A. Gig
The[lastfm]Smashing Pumpkins[/lastfm] gave 250 lucky fans and VIPs in Los Angeles an intimate performance in honor of Record Store Day over the weekend.
The “Tonight, Tonight” hitmakers took to the stage at Space 15 Twenty and offered up an eclectic mix of past favorites and new tracks from their epic 44-song EP, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope.
Group frontman Billy Corgan also used the performance to introduce his fictitious son “Jason,” a reference to a recent Rolling Stone article that questioned his choice to never have kids.
“You may have seen a recent article on me in Rolling Stone that talked about how I’ve been affected by not having children,” Corgan told the audience. “Well, since then I’ve found out that I do have a child.”
Then, his “son” appeared on stage, wearing a Mexican wrestler’s mask.
The first of the eleven editions of Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope Vol. 1: Songs for a Sailor, is due out on May 25.
