MJ’s “Thriller” Voted Most Significant Music Vid Ever
Fans continue to recognize [lastfm]Michael Jackson[/lastfm]’s far-reaching influence on pop music this week. In a poll on MySpace, fans voted the late King of Pop’s “Thriller” video the most significant music video of all time.
The 1983 epic beat out competition from [lastfm]Britney Spears[/lastfm]’ “. . . Baby One More Time,” and the [lastfm]Beastie Boys[/lastfm]’ “Sabotage.” The honor is just one of several awards racked up by the video, including two Grammy Awards and six MTV Video Music Awards.
MJ is also topping headlines this week in the wake of the myserious suicide of his former attorney, Peter Lopez. Lopez, the husband of Hollywood actress Catherine Bach, was found dead in his Encino, California, home over the weekend after neighbors heard a gun shot from inside the house.
For a time, the lawyer handled all of Jackson’s legal matters and reportedly left a note that gave no explanation for his death.
