[lastfm]Madonna[/lastfm] has noted that she no longer has time to work on new music, and even if she did, she has no current record deal and means to distribute it.
“I haven’t really been focused as much as I should be on the music part of my career, because the movie [W.E.] has consumed every inch of me,” the Material Girl told Interview magazine. “Between that and my four children, I don’t have the time or energy for anything else.”
Madonna also expressed concerns about how any of her new music would be distributed in future.
“I don’t have a record deal right now with anybody,” she said. “I don’t know how I’m going to get my music out the next time I make a record. I’m going to have to reinvent the wheel.”
The 51-year-old singer’s last album, Hard Candy, was released in 2008, with the single “4 Minutes” reaching number three on the Billboard charts.
