[lastfm]Stone Temple Pilots[/lastfm] have released the video for their current single, “Between the Lines,” the first from their forthcoming self-titled album.
The video features shots of the band performing the track interspersed with footage of a couple playing out the break-up story chronicled in the lyrics. It is currently available for streaming on YouTube.
For the new album, which is due out on May 25, guitarist Dean DeLeo and his brother, bassist Robert DeLeo held the producer’s chair, giving the band complete creative control over the project.
“I’m not so good at walking around the control room with a pen and clipboard in my hands, marking down what takes are the best. It’s a lot of work,” Dean told Spin last January. “But I like being the very best I can be, and when you’re producing, you are taking on everyone’s performances and wanting it to be the best it can be.”
STP will hit RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. on May 22 and the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, New Jersey, on May 23 before heading to Europe for a string of dates throughout June.
