[lastfm]Carly Simon[/lastfm] has announced the winner of her ongoing “You’re So Vain” video contest, in which fans could make and submit new music videos for the iconic 1970s hit. The winner, as selected by Simon along with Spinner, Simon’s label Isis Records and the Tribeca Film Festival, is Brett Bisogno, who will pocket $10,000 for his effort.
Bisogno’s video depicts the song’s mysterious main character as he wanders through New York, only revealing his true identity at the end of the song. Simon also appears throughout the video dancing and performing the song.
“Hanging out with Carly and getting to talk with her and hearing that she liked the video was the best part,” Bisogno told Spinner. “It was a lot of fun talking with the other contestants. It gives me a little more exposure than I would normally have. It’s only going to help me. It’s great.”
According to Simon, Bisogno’s video won because of its clever comedic quality.
“Brett Bisogno made the video that makes me laugh and will continue to make me laugh forever,” Simon said.
