[lastfm]Metallica[/lastfm] frontman James Hetfield claims that he was ripped off by a Moscow restaurant that reportedly charged him and his bandmates about $650 for a few steaks and salads.
Hetfield says he was initially presented with a bill showing the correct price, 8,000 roubles, or $270, but was then charged more than twice that amount on his credit card.
A representative for the singer/guitarist went to the restaurant to contest the charge and was reportedly presented with a signed receipt. Hetfield claims the receipt was forged.
The metal gods were in Moscow over the weekend for performances on April 24 and 25 at the city’s Olimpiysky Sports Complex. This is the second unexpected incident for the band on their tour of Europe and Asia, as the group’s flights were canceled due to volcanic ash and they had to travel by bus and train.
Metallica continue their overseas tour on May 11 and 12 with back-to-back shows at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
