Jason Bonham‘s [lastfm]Led Zeppelin[/lastfm] Experience tour is expected to begin this fall. Jason planned the event as a tribute to his father, legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, who died 30 years ago.
The 30-day tour through North America will feature Jason and others playing the music of Led Zeppelin. More information, including tour dates and bandmembers, is expected to be announced soon.
“When I was offered to put this together over a year ago, it wasn’t right,” Jason said in a statement. “This September 25th is the 30th anniversary of my father’s passing – I thought, what better way to celebrate his life than to do 30 shows for the 30 years he’s been gone?”
John Bonham died in 1980 of asphyxiation after a night of binge drinking. He was 32, and Jason was only 14 at the time.
