[lastfm]Alice in Chains [/lastfm]have announced a new leg of their current trek. The band will hit the road in what has been dubbed the BLACKDIAMONDSKYE tour. Confirming rumors that have been swirling since last month, they will be traveling with [lastfm]Mastodon [/lastfm]and the [lastfm]Deftones[/lastfm].
The tour name comes from putting together the names of the bands’ latest albums: Alice In Chain’s Black Gives Way to Blue, the Deftones’ Diamond Eyes and Mastodon’s Crack the Skye.
“We’re really looking forward to touring with our friends, Deftones and Mastodon,” Alice in Chains’ [lastfm]Jerry Cantrell [/lastfm]said in a statement. “Each band has its own unique flavor and the combination of all three will make for a great show and a good time on the road.”
The BLACKDIAMONDSKYE trek kicks off September 16 in Chicago and goes on until an October 16 show in Las Vegas.
