Dave Grohl To Narrate John Bonham’s Story

davegrohl 100909 Dave Grohl To Narrate John Bonhams Story[lastfm]Foo Fighters [/lastfm]frontman [lastfm]Dave Grohl[/lastfm] will be behind a BBC microphone on Monday, but not to offer up a performance. The former [lastfm]Nirvana[/lastfm] drummer will be narrating a documentary-style special on [lastfm]John Bonham [/lastfm]that is set to air over the radio.

The hour-long episode, stocked with interviews of family and friends, will tell the tale of Bonham, the wild-man percussionist for [lastfm]Led Zeppelin [/lastfm]who passed away in 1980.

Gigwise.com reports that the special will include exclusive interviews with Bonham’s bandmates [lastfm]Jimmy Page [/lastfm]and [lastfm]Robert Plant[/lastfm]. Zep bassist [lastfm]John Paul Jones [/lastfm]is currently performing alongside Grohl and [lastfm]Queens of the Stone Age[/lastfm]‘s [lastfm]Josh Homme [/lastfm]in [lastfm]Them Crooked Vultures[/lastfm].

In other news, Grohl is also set to appear at the White House on Tuesday, June 2 for a concert that will honor former [lastfm]Beatle[/lastfm] [lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm], who is this year’s recipient of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The event, which will also feature [lastfm]Jack White [/lastfm]and [lastfm]Elvis Costello[/lastfm], will air on July 28.
