[lastfm]Liam Gallagher [/lastfm]has declared that splitting up from his former band [lastfm]Oasis[/lastfm] is the “best thing that’s ever happened” to him.
Gallagher admitted he has not spoken to his brother and former bandmate, [lastfm]Noel Gallagher[/lastfm], since the band broke up last August. In an interview with the New York Times he said: “In hindsight it was the best thing that’s ever happened, because we’re free to do whatever we want.”
He also told the newspaper that he is enjoying his career with his new band, [lastfm]Beady Eye[/lastfm], though he was “gutted” about the band’s break-up at first. The group is currently in the studio recording music for their first post-[lastfm]Oasis[/lastfm] album.
Gallagher is planning to release Beady Eye’s first single in October. A string of live shows will reportedly be scheduled around the release date.
