christinaaguilera 100209 Christina Aguilera Goes Bionic This Week[lastfm]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm]‘s much anticipated Bionic album will hit stores this week, marking her first new release since 2006’s Back To Basics. The album boasts an all-star production team including Polow da Don, Tricky Stewart, Ladytron and former [lastfm]4 Non Blondes [/lastfm]frontwoman [lastfm]Linda Perry[/lastfm].

According to Aguilera, working with a diverse mix of collaborators helped generate a new sound, unlike anything she’s done before.

“Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience, she said in a statement. “The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic.”

She added, “My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound. The results were magic.”

The second single from the album, “Woohoo,” features [lastfm]Nicki Minaj[/lastfm]. The track went to radio on May 18, and Aguilera performed the song live at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night.
