pearljam Pearl Jam Song Better Days LeakedA rare [lastfm]Pearl Jam [/lastfm]song titled “Better Days” has leaked online. The tune hit the web after a person going only by the name “Pete” posted it, claiming he was doing so on behalf of Pearl Jam’s manager, [lastfm]Kelly Curtis[/lastfm].

The mystery man reportedly posted the song to the website of Pearl Jam’s start-up label Monkeywrench Records with the message, “Gary, Kelly wanted you to hear this please give it a listen.” It seems the song was mistakenly posted to a public area and the site has since been password protected.

Speculation is that the song is from the recording sessions for the band’s 2002 album Riot Act, and features a mixture of accordion, mandolin, and African drumming. It also features [lastfm]Eddie Vedder [/lastfm]showing off his falsetto.

Meanwhile, Pearl Jam will be in Europe later this month for a series of tour dates. Here is a list of upcoming Pearl Jam stops:

June 25 Hyde Park London, U.K.
