A rare [lastfm]Pearl Jam [/lastfm]song titled “Better Days” has leaked online. The tune hit the web after a person going only by the name “Pete” posted it, claiming he was doing so on behalf of Pearl Jam’s manager, [lastfm]Kelly Curtis[/lastfm].
The mystery man reportedly posted the song to the website of Pearl Jam’s start-up label Monkeywrench Records with the message, “Gary, Kelly wanted you to hear this please give it a listen.” It seems the song was mistakenly posted to a public area and the site has since been password protected.
Speculation is that the song is from the recording sessions for the band’s 2002 album Riot Act, and features a mixture of accordion, mandolin, and African drumming. It also features [lastfm]Eddie Vedder [/lastfm]showing off his falsetto.
