Move over Guitar Hero and Rock Band, there’s a new music game on the block and this one features tracks by [lastfm]Eric Clapton[/lastfm]. Seven45’s new game, Power Gig: Rise of the SixString, takes the “guitar game” concept and ads in a real guitar, allowing users to actually play along with tracks by old Slowhand.
Along with Clapton’s tracks, players will also have the choice to jam along with [lastfm]Kid Rock [/lastfm]and [lastfm]Dave Matthews Band[/lastfm].
“We think Power Gig is a much needed and much welcomed game because, unlike any others before it, it puts a real guitar into the hands of aspiring musicians, and we hope it inspires our fans and others to start playing even when they’re not playing the game,” DMB said in a statement.
Kid Rock added, “I was never interested in pressing buttons on a guitar to entertain myself or anyone else. The reason I signed up with Power Gig is because this game is a way to not only have fun, but also to play real notes on an actual guitar! Anyone can now rock out-even if they have never shredded before in their life.”
Seven45’s Power Gig: Rise of the SixString hits stores in October.
