Ronnie Wood: Rod Stewart May Rejoin The Faces
Though the[lastfm] Faces[/lastfm] are set to reunite this summer without former frontman [lastfm]Rod Stewart[/lastfm], guitarist [lastfm]Ronnie Wood [/lastfm]says Stewart may not be entirely out of the picture.
In a recent interview with NME, Wood admits that the band tried to connect with Stewart but their schedules were not compatible.
“We haven’t ruled Rod out,” he said. “It’s just that his schedule is totally crossing over exactly when we wanted him. We’ve got [[lastfm]Simply Red[/lastfm]‘s] [lastfm]Mick Hucknall [/lastfm]because his voice is just like Rod’s was in the ’70s. “The door’s not closed to Rod, but we’re carrying on because it’s worth it.”
Last month, the “Stay with Me” legends confirmed that they will hit the stage this summer behind Hucknall at the Sussex Vintage at Goodwood Festival, which kicks off on August 13. Stewart is encouraging of the new frontman, telling fans at his recent show at London’s O2 Arena to give Hucknall “a chance.”
