After announcing a series of intimate club shows, the [lastfm]Smashing Pumpkins [/lastfm]have revealed another date that isn’t as up close and personal. The revived grunge outfit will headline this summer’s Sunset Strip Music Festival in Hollywood.
This year’s festival will include three days of rock and roll, starting off on August 26 with a tribute to former [lastfm]Guns N’ Roses [/lastfm]guitarist [lastfm]Slash[/lastfm] at the Hollywood House of Blues. The Pumpkins will be one of a few bands to close out the street fest with a Sunday night performance.
“We are ecstatic to be able to bring this caliber of talent to the street and create what will undoubtedly become the ultimate end-of-summer music festival experience for our attendees,” said Karmen Beck, the managing director behind this year’s festival. Last year’s fest had music on two outdoor stages, with indoor performances happening up and down the Sunset Strip.
Tickets to the event went on sale this week.
