[lastfm]Slash[/lastfm] has been chosen to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on Thursday, June 17 that the former [lastfm]Guns N’ Roses[/lastfm] guitarist would be honored along with several other stars in 2011.
The 44-year-old musician is best known for playing guitar for GN’R between the years of 1985 and 1996, but later formed [lastfm]Slash’s Snakepit[/lastfm] and also co-founded [lastfm]Velvet Revolver[/lastfm] with his former bandmates [lastfm]Duff McKagan[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Matt Sorum[/lastfm]. This year, the guitarist also released his debut solo album – Slash – in April.
The three most anticipated celebrities receiving stars in 2011 are [lastfm]Oprah Winfrey[/lastfm], the [lastfm]Muppets[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Buddy Holly[/lastfm].
[lastfm]Melissa Etheridge[/lastfm], [lastfm]Reese Witherspoon[/lastfm], [lastfm]Penélope Cruz[/lastfm], [lastfm]Gwyneth Paltrow[/lastfm], [lastfm]Tina Fey[/lastfm], [lastfm]Danny DeVito[/lastfm], the [lastfm]Go-Go’s[/lastfm], [lastfm]Rascal Flatts[/lastfm] and Will.i.am are also set to be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
