Sammy Hagar To Release Memoir
Former [lastfm]Van Halen[/lastfm] frontman [lastfm]Sammy Hagar[/lastfm] has signed a book deal and says that his memoir will be published sometime in 2011.
It Books, a division of HarpenCollins, has signed Hagar, saying in a press release that the Red Rocker “will provide readers with incredible behind-the-scenes stories from his multi-platinum career, including his rise as a solo artist and his eleven years with Van Halen, after the controversial departure of original lead vocalist [lastfm]David Lee Roth[/lastfm].”
In an official statement Hagar says, “I’ve been writing this book my whole life . . . It’s time to put it between two covers.”
Until the memoir is released, Hagar will open a few select dates on this summer’s [lastfm]Aerosmith[/lastfm] tour. He will also continue to work on his newest project – [lastfm]Chickenfoot[/lastfm] – alongside guitar god [lastfm]Joe Satriani[/lastfm] and the [lastfm]Red Hot Chili Peppers’ [/lastfm][lastfm]Chad Smith[/lastfm].
