[lastfm]Billy Corgan[/lastfm] hit the stage for the first show with his new [lastfm]Smashing Pumpkins[/lastfm] bandmates for an intimate gig at Los Angeles’ Viper Room earlier this week.
Flanked by his new bassist [lastfm]Nicole Fiorentino[/lastfm], formerly of [lastfm]Veruca Salt[/lastfm], and 20-year old drummer [lastfm]Mike Byrne[/lastfm], Corgan rocked the 200-capacity crowd with a mix of new tracks and Pumpkins’ classics.
Top tracks from the set list included “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” and “Cherub Rock” in addition to tracks from the band’s new 44-song mega-EP Teargarden by Kaleidyscope. It was, by all accounts, a raucous show with fans casually chatting throughout.
The band hits the road next week, kicking off their summer tour the House of Blues in Cleveland.
