[lastfm]Colin Farrell [/lastfm]has not signed on to portray [lastfm]Ozzy Osbourne [/lastfm]in an upcoming biopic centered on the rocker, according to new reports. Farrell’s representatives have denied the previous claim, telling blog GossipCop.com that any such rumors are “not true.”
The story quickly spread over the web earlier this week and was given credibility due to Farrell’s similarly troubled history with drugs and alcohol. Word of the project first broke in March when Ozzy’s wife/manager Sharon announced that the film had already been picked up by a studio.
“There’s about to be a big announcement,” she told Zap2It.com. “It’s been picked up and it’s going into production. We’re going to make a press announcement hopefully within the next two weeks. [There's no cast] yet, but we have a producer and we have lots of money and we’re all starting.”
When asked who might play herself, the Princess of Darkness, Sharon revealed that she was hoping for “the girl from An Education, the English girl Carey Mulligan.”
