Ex-Oasis Singer Guesses Which Song John Lennon May Have Covered
If [lastfm]John Lennon[/lastfm] were to choose one [lastfm]Oasis[/lastfm] song to cover, [lastfm]Liam Gallagher[/lastfm] guesses it would have been “I’m Outta Time,” from the band’s 2008 album Dig Out Your Soul. The band’s former front man made the suggestion while fielding questions through the Web site for his clothing line [lastfm]Pretty Green[/lastfm].
On the site Gallagher keeps a running dialogue with fans called ‘Ask Liam,’ and says that the late [lastfm]Beatle[/lastfm] legend would have chosen the songs “because it’s the bollocks.” Though the answer seems straightforward enough, it may have been a jab at his ex-band mate and brother [lastfm]Noel Gallagher[/lastfm], who had no hand in the song.
Lennon is also making recent headlines with the announcement that all eight of his post-Beatles albums will be remastered in honor of his 70th birthday. In an official statement, the late rocker’s wife Yoko Ono confirmed that the new editions will be released this October in the form of an 11-CD “John Lennon Signature Box” set.
The box set will include reworked versions of Lennon’s 1975 cover album Rock N’ Roll along with his final record Double Fantasy.
