With their highly-anticipated 20-10 Tour kicking off in less than a week, [lastfm]Creed[/lastfm] is not only rehearsing but also finishing up a new single.
“We’ve thrown some ideas at each other over the last couple months and if everything comes together right, which I think it will, there’ll definitely be a new Creed song this summer,” frontman [lastfm]Scott Stapp[/lastfm] said in a recent interview with Billboard.com.
Guitarist [lastfm]Mark Tremonti[/lastfm] chimed in with a little more on the new tune, saying that, in regard to a demo he had been working on himself, “now everybody has to get together and put their two cents in and agree on the song – and we’ve got to do this in the next week and a half.”
The group’s 20-10 tour, which offers tickets for $20 and $10 each night, kicks off on July 26.
“While we’re doing rehearsals in Nashville, maybe we’ll record the song,” Tremonti added. “It wouldn’t be out at the beginning of the tour, but in a perfect world . . . it’d probably be within the first two weeks.”
He continued, “It brings it back to the old vibe we used to send out in our songs. It’s just that kind of a feel-good, big rock song, that anthemic, ‘My Sacrifice’ and ‘Higher’ kind of vibe.”
