In response to a report in the Sun that their next tour would be their last, a rep for the [lastfm]Rolling Stones[/lastfm] recently told Entertainment Weekly that the report is untrue.
According to the Sun, an anonymous source said that the band “realize that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans.”
However, a rep told EW that the band retiring is “not true.”
Guitarist [lastfm]Ronnie Wood[/lastfm] also reiterated that the band plans to continue for a long time to come, telling the People newspaper, “We’ll rock till we drop. We have all agreed this won’t be the last time. Everyone’s rocking.”
Live Nation, the promoter sponsoring the Stones’ current tour, is said to be in negotiations with the band to plan a worldwide tour that will begin in 2011 and end sometime in 2012.
