On November 9 Rhino Entertainment is set to release a new concert film from the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival that will feature over four hours of footage from the event. The third Crossroads Guitar Festival took place on June 26 at Chicago’s Toyota Park.
Included in the 2-disc DVD/Blu-ray package will be performances from [lastfm]Eric Clapton[/lastfm], [lastfm]B.B. King[/lastfm], [lastfm]Steve Winwood[/lastfm], [lastfm]Jeff Beck[/lastfm], [lastfm]Buddy Guy[/lastfm], [lastfm]ZZ Top[/lastfm], [lastfm]Sheryl Crow[/lastfm], [lastfm]John Mayer[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Vince Gill[/lastfm]. The film will also feature behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the performers.
In an official statement, festival organizer Eric Clapton says: “The Crossroads Festival is the realization of a dream for me, to gather a group of amazingly talented musicians to perform on one stage. The Crossroads performers are all musicians I admire and respect.”
The blues and rock legend is also making headlines this week with the announcement that his iconic track “Layla” will be included in the new game Power Gig: Rise of the SixString. Developed by Seven45 Studios, Power Gig will be the first music game in which players use a real guitar. It is due to hit stores this October.
