Morrissey Fights Against Bear Fur Hats?
If you find yourself getting bored with issues like the BP Oil Spill, the earthquake in Haiti or funding cancer research, well then, [lastfm]Morrissey[/lastfm] has just the issue for you!
The former Smith’s frontman has decided to set aside some of those pesky political issues(like the civil war in Darfur and the facial maiming in Afghanistan) in order to put an end to bear fur being used in the production of the Queen’s British Army Guard’s hats.
Moz (aka- [lastfm]Morrissey[/lastfm]) published a letter in the London Times openly criticizing the usage of bear fur in the hats worn by the Queen’s Guard. Traditionally, the hats are made out of 100% Canadian black bears skins.

This isn’t the first time [lastfm]Morrissey[/lastfm] has campaigned from his Animal Rights platform. In 1985, [lastfm]The Smiths[/lastfm] released an album aptly titled, “Meat Is Murder” and 2007, [lastfm]Morrissey[/lastfm] refused to play a Canadian show citing protest against barbaric seal hunting.
