[lastfm]Prince[/lastfm] is facing a lawsuit from his former attorney Ed McPherson, who claims that the singer owes him nearly $50,000 in unpaid legal fees. According to a new report from TMZ, the lawyer has made “countless attempts . . . to resolve this matter,” but the “Purple Rain” hitmaker has not responded.
McPherson is said to have represented Prince in two separate legal cases and claims that he “performed legal services on (Prince’s) behalf in an exemplary manner.” The lawsuit was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, August 2, with McPherson asking for $49,987.
Last month Prince released his newest studio offering, 20Ten. The album was offered exclusively as an add-on for various periodicals around the world including the U.K.’s Daily Mirror and Daily Record, Germany’s Rolling Stone, Belgium’s Het Nieuwsblad and De Gentenaar and France’s Courrier International.
