Green Day Kick Off North American Tour With Mega-Show
[lastfm]Green Day[/lastfm] launched their 21st Century Breakdown tour with a marathon concert session earlier this week.
On Tuesday night, the band played a two hour and forty minute set at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, New Jersey. They played a mix of songs from their current album and hits from the early 1990s.
During the show, frontman [lastfm]Billie Joe Armstrong[/lastfm] explained the change from his usual black hair to blonde by saying: “I went to the hair salon and I said, ‘Can you give me the [lastfm]Justin Bieber[/lastfm] look?’ And this is what I got.”
In addition to their headlining tour dates, the band will be performing on August 7 at Lollapalooza in Chicago.
21st Century Breakdown debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 Albums chart back in May 2009. The album produced the hit singles “Know Your Enemy” and “21 Guns,” which have gone gold and platinum, respectively.
