Rod Stewart To Be A Father, Again, At 66
[lastfm]Rod Stewart[/lastfm] has confirmed that he and his wife Penny Lancaster are expecting their second child. Their first child, Alastair, is now four years old and the couple say they are thrilled about the new addition.
“We were thrilled and delighted to be able to tell Alastair that he was going to be the big brother to a little baby, expected just before Mummy’s 40th birthday,” the couple told People magazine.
The new baby will be Stewart’s seventh child, spanning across several wives and girlfriends. The baby is due just weeks after the singer celebrates his 66th birthday in January. Penny will turn 40 next March.
Stewart and Lancaster, a model and photographer, were engaged in 2005 but waited until 2007 to officially tie the knot. When asked why they waited so long to get married, Stewart told interviewers, “I left it this long to propose because I want to get it right this time.”
