American Musician/Record Producer, [lastfm]Gilby Clarke[/lastfm], infamous for his 3-year tenure as rhythm guitarst for [lastfm]Guns N’ Roses[/lastfm], celebrates his 48th birthday today.

Born Gilbert Clarke on August 17th, 1962, Clarke replaced [lastfm]Izzy Stradlin[/lastfm] in 1991 during the [lastfm]Guns N’ Roses[/lastfm] Use Your Illusion Tour.

Since departing [lastfm]Guns N’ Roses[/lastfm], Clarke has went on to forge a solo career as well as playing guitar with [lastfm]Slash’s Snakepit[/lastfm], [lastfm]Heart[/lastfm], [lastfm]Nancy Sinatra[/lastfm], [lastfm]Kathy Valentine[/lastfm] (of the [lastfm]Go-Go’s[/lastfm]), [lastfm]MC5[/lastfm] and forming his own group[lastfm]Rock Star Supernova[/lastfm] with members of [lastfm]Metallica[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Mötley Crüe[/lastfm].
