Michael Jackson’s Mother Files Lawsuit Against AEG
And the Jackson lawsuits continue long after the King of Pop’s death
[lastfm]Michael Jackson[/lastfm]‘s mother filed a lawsuit on Wednesday, September 15 against event promoter AEG Live and its director Kenny Ortega. The suit was filed on behalf of Michael’s three children.
Katherine Jackson is claiming that the company was negligent in overseeing Michael’s physical care in the months leading up to his farewell This Is It tour.
Dr. Conrad Murray, the private physician hired by AEG, is also named in the suit. It alleges that AEG did not provide necessary emergency equipment that was listed in their contract with Murray.
Jackson went into cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009 at his Holmby Hills mansion. He later died of acute propofol intoxication. His death occurred just hours after Murray injected him with the anesthetic, which Jackson had been using as a sedative.
AEG had no official comment when asked about the suit and told E! News only that they “knew it was coming.”
