The former “Beatles” member has written many great songs to reach out to his fans. Now his reaching out to one fan that may really need some “Help!”
[lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] has reportedly reached out to former [lastfm]Wham![/lastfm] frontman [lastfm]George Michael[/lastfm], who is currently serving an eight-week prison sentence on drug charges.
Sources close to Michael say that the former [lastfm]Beatle[/lastfm] wrote him an encouraging two-page letter.
“He got the letter on Monday and was really chuffed. Sir Paul said he would see him soon and told George to keep his chin up. The letter was two pages long and George read it over and over again,” the source tells the Sun.
Michael was sentenced to jail time after he was found guilty of driving under the influence of marijuana. He crashed his SUV into the side of a camera shop in London’s Hampstead neighborhood in July.
Michael had initially planned to fight the decision in the Blackfriar’s Crown Court but has since given up on the appeal.
McCartney’s letter may come as a showing of solidarity. He too served time for a marijuana arrest after being caught with the drug in Japan back in 1980.
