The Who May Have Plans For New Material In 2011
What “The Who” is going on???
[lastfm]Roger Daltrey[/lastfm] of [lastfm]The Who[/lastfm] says the aging band will not go quietly into the night and in fact has plans to get back to work very soon.
The news comes as a surprise due to guitarist [lastfm]Pete Townshend’s[/lastfm] debilitating tinnitus, which has prevented him at times in his career from performing.
Daltrey didn’t address Townshend’s physical condition, but said in a fan interview on the band’s website, “We’re in the planning stages for next year . . . . we are planning on doing something. I can’t really talk about specifics yet, but it will be based around a past work.”
Daltrey also said there is the possibility of working on new material as well. “Pete is writing . . . . you never know when that might turn up,” Roger added. “So, between now and then, there might be a new album, plus ‘Quadrophenia,’ and ‘Tommy,’ and those things we haven’t visited for a while. That will be fun.”
