Aaron Lewis of [lastfm]Staind[/lastfm] knows how to bring true emotion to the microphone, and he proved this last night when he performed a solo acoustic set for an awestruck crowd at the House of Blues in Chicago. All he needed was a wooden stool on an afghan rug and his acoustic guitars. Aaron recently said, “I was asked to play a few solo shows in casinos and I did … Since then, it has snowballed into three or four months worth of acoustic shows. It’s kind of coming around full-circle now.”
Aaron opened the set with a stripped down, unplugged version of “So Far Away.” This video from a previous performance doesn’t even compare to the live experience, but it gives you an idea of how vocally gifted he is. He does not use a set list for his acoustic performances, so he just goes with the mood of the show, and the audience cannot predict his next move.
