Joe Perry ‘Optimistic’ About Aerosmith’s Future
Oh Joe Perry, you keep changing your mind about the state of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Aerosmith[/lastfm]…
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has been an outspoken opponent of Steven Tyler’s new gig as a judge on American Idol, but it seems the rocker still has hope for his band. During a recent interview with Spinner.com, Perry says the band will continue to play live and hopefully make a new record.
“I’m optimistic about it. I know that the band will always somehow put something together and play, whether it’s two or three weeks out on the road and playing this or that or some charity stuff. I do not think this band is going to see its last show, that’s how I feel,” Perry says in the interview.
“Steven’s been very emphatic in saying that the way his time is arranged on the show leaves room to work on a record. He’s been taking great pains to remind everybody of that, so hopefully that’s the way it will come out.”
And though Perry has had some tough words for his old partner in recent months, he wishes him the best on the show.
“He’s always talked about doing stuff like that and I think he wants to try his hand at that. Let him go at it. That’s an interesting endeavor. I hope he’s really happy doing it.”
