Nothing can stop Lou Reed and Susan Boyle… Not Rain, Wind or Snow!! Mother Nature better look out

Legendary [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Velvet Underground[/lastfm] frontman [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lou Reed[/lastfm] reportedly helped out on the new video for [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Susan Boyle[/lastfm]‘s most recent single “Perfect Day.” The track is a cover of Velvet Underground’s 1972 classic.

The unusual collaboration is the result of a tenuous exchange between the two stars after Reed’s publishing company denied Boyle the right to perform “Perfect Day” on an episode of Britain’s Got Talent. After the incident, Boyle spoke out against Reed.

“It was a bit childish on his part,” she told interviewer [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Piers Morgan[/lastfm]. “A man of his caliber and his talent, a bit childish . . . Mr. Reed, I have respect for you as an artist but you ought to be more considerate.”

It seems Reed was keen to smooth things over with the Scottish songstress, however, as he then offered to help develop the concept for her video.

“I wanted to create a beautiful and intimate piece shot in Susan’s native Scotland and she quickly agreed,” Reed told the U.K.’s Sunday Mail.

“I loved that Lou understood how much it meant to me to film in Scotland. I didn’t mind how much it rained or blew a gale –I enjoyed every minute,” Boyle added.
