Counting down the days till Radiohead’s New Album comes out
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Radiohead[/lastfm] may be nearing completion on their highly anticipated follow-up to 2007’s In Rainbows. In a recent interview with the Italian edition of Rolling Stone, guitarist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jonny Greenwood[/lastfm] revealed that the new album is “almost finished” and will have “10 pieces (tracks), maybe some more.”
The currently untitled album has been a long time coming for Radiohead, who nearly scrapped the project and started over again earlier this fall. In a previous interview with the Canadian Press, drummer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Phil Selway[/lastfm] said that the band wasn’t feeling totally confident in the album’s direction.
” . . . We might just throw this all out and say maybe we need to go back to the drawing board. Who knows? It’s all up in the air at the moment,” he revealed in late September.
“We’ve been working on material on and off for a year now,” Selway added. “So yes, we’re basically taking stock . . . and seeing what we need to do with the material to move it to those final stages. We’re just returning to it with fresh ears and taking stock of where we are and how close we are to finishing stuff, really.”
