Damon Albarn Says Blur May Reunite Next Year
iPad is the new sound studio
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Damon Albarn[/lastfm] has revealed that [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Blur[/lastfm] may reconnect for a small-scale reunion early next year. While speaking with the U.K.’s Sky News, the uber-prolific rocker said he’s been in touch with his band mates, but they have no grand plans at the moment.
“We did talk about doing something in January, something small, no career-based world domination ideas,” Albarn told the news outlet.
Albarn has also made recent headlines when he admitted that he has been working on the new [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Gorillaz[/lastfm] album largely on his iPad. While speaking with NME, he explained that it’s the perfect piece of equipment to use while on tour and he’s hoping it’s the first album of its kind.
“I’ve made it on an iPad – I hope I’ll be making the first record on an iPad,” Albarn said. “I fell in love with my iPad as soon as I got it, so I’ve made a completely different kind of record.”
And as if forthcoming Blur and Gorillaz projects aren’t enough, Albarn is also at work on an afro-beat-inspired album with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Red Hot Chili Peppers[/lastfm] bassist Flea and drummer Tony Allen.
