They’re on a mission to kill cancer.
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Who[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jeff Beck[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Richard Ashcroft[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Blondie[/lastfm]‘s [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Debbie Harry[/lastfm] have all thrown their weight behind the U.K.’s Killing Cancer charity. The group is currently raising money for research into a new cancer treatment called Photodynamic Therapy (PDT).
The artists will all perform at a concert to benefit the organization on January 13 at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London.
“Any new breakthrough in cancer treatment should be taken very seriously and we want as many people to know about that as possible. The concert is not just going to raise funds to pay for new PDT trials, but will also help raise public awareness,” Beck said while recently speaking to a group of PDT supporters.
Tickets for the event go on sale starting November 19 and will be available through the charity’s official website, killingcancer.co.uk.
