[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Van Halen[/lastfm] are reportedly set to make a big comeback in 2011 with a new album and extensive world tour. According to a new report from MelodicRock.com, the band is planning to make stops across North America, Europe and Australia.
The new album brings Eddie Van Halen back together with the band’s iconic frontman David Lee Roth. Roth had previously joined the group for a tour in 2007, which also featured Eddie’s brother Alex Van Halen and son Wolfgang Van Halen. The new album will be Roth’s first with the band since the 1980s.
In preparation for the band’s return in 2011, their record label will offer up a selection of re-released titles in various new formats. Van Halen’s classic albums Van Halen II, Women and Children First and 1984 will all be re-issued on vinyl starting on December 13.
Blu-ray editions of Live Without a Net and Live: Right Here, Right Now are also in the works.
