Saying that it could be their “last big shot”. Coldplay is “going for it” with their next album.
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Coldplay[/lastfm]‘s [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Chris Martin[/lastfm] says he and the band think their next album could be their “last big shot” for a hit. During a recent interview with the BBC, the rocker says they brought a lot of material to the table for this album.
“We’re going for it,” Martin said about the band’s forthcoming fifth album. “We regard this as our last big shot. . . We had a lot of songs and we cut a lot of songs. It’s quite brutal – especially if you’re the person which brings the songs. Now we’re close to what the album might be.”
He continues on to say that work on the album was also tough early on due to internal strife amongst the band.
“When we came back from America last time we had some bad stuff happening in our group,” he adds.
And though the mega-stars may have struggled at the outset of the recording process, it seems they recovered quickly, even finding time to release a holiday track titled “Christmas Lights.” It is currently available for download through their official website.
