Lady Gaga is truly taking the world by storm
CNN’s Showbiz Tonight has named [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] its Most Provocative Entertainment Icon of 2010. The singer earned the award based on her popularity, actions in the last year, and the reaction her name elicited in focus groups.
In the last year, Gaga became the most followed person on Twitter and the first artist to reach a billion video views on YouTube. She also made headlines for wearing a dress made from meat, campaigning for anti-bullying and LGBT efforts, and making lewd gestures to paparazzi at a New York Mets game in June.
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Miley Cyrus[/lastfm], who attempted to get rid of her G-rated image this year, was also in contention for the award.
