Ringo Starr Embraces The Here & Now On New Album “Ringo 2012”

Sir Paul isn’t the only Beatle with fresh new music for us in 2012. The legendary Ringo Starr has been in the studio as well, laying down tracks for his new album, simply titled Ringo 2012. This isn’t the first time Starr has named an album after himself: 1973-s Ringo was self-titled, and one of those songs (“Think It Over”) is reprised on 2012 with an updated, up-tempo sound. The album includes help from some of Starr’s famous friends – look out for cameos from the likes of Joe Walsh, Edgar Winter, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

Here’s a preview of what’s in store on 2012, this is Ringo Starr performing new song “Think It Over” in his home studio.

2012 will prove to be a big year for Starr, who has a massive European tour planned (find show dates and ticket information here). Do Ringo and his All Starr Band have plans to tour in the United States? No word yet, though the best way to find out might be to ask Ringo on his Facebook page. There you’ll also find information about his release week activities which include a live town-hall-style radio session and a performance at The Troubadour in Los Angeles.
