On the heels of rumors that the Rolling Stones will play shows in Brooklyn and London this November comes the announcement that their HBO documentary will debut the same month. The doc, titled Crossfire Hurricane, will debut on HBO November 15th, according to an official press release.

While the film was previously announced, its title and air date were undisclosed until today. Additionally, Crossfire Hurricane will make a limited theatrical debut in the U.K. this fall, with a later airing on BBC 2.

There’s been more than a few Rolling Stones documentaries and concert films through the years, including Martin Scorsese’s 2008 film, Shine A Light, and a vintage tour doc that will debut next month. Crossfire Hurricane, which takes its name from a line in “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” debuts in honor of the Stones’ 50th anniversary as a band. The documentary is directed by Brett Morgan, who is best known for his doc about actor Robert Evans, The Kid Stays in the Picture.

Morgen conducted 50+ hours of new interviews with past and present members for the career-spanning film that examines their progression from the bad boys of the British Invasion to the old faithful of rock’n'roll. In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, Morgen promised “music never heard before.” Meanwhile, today’s press release tactfully alludes to the Stones’ infamous sex, drugs and rock’n'roll lifestyle by saying it is “discussed with extraordinary forthrightness” in Crossfire Hurricane.
