Following guest appearances at Rolling Stones shows by John Fogerty, Bonnie Raitt, Gwen Stefani, Tom Waits and Keith Urban, pop singer Katy Perry got her shot with the Stones this weekend, as she shared the stage with them during their show Saturday night in Las Vegas. While Perry was overly excited about her duet on “Beast of Burden” and took to Twitter to share the news and some photos, the music world was less than pleased; some fans noted that she got equal time onstage as their former guitarist Mick Taylor, with each of them appearing for one song (although to be fair, “Beast Of Burden” is a much shorter song than “Midnight Rambler,” which Taylor joined them on).
Though Perry was thrilled to be the fifth wheel and said it’s a check off her bucket list, the crowd and critics alike held a different opinion.
Not everyone gave the performance a bad review, though.
